How to Show Up in a Big Way, and Kick Self-Doubt to the Curb.

Darlene Hawley

Often we as business owners continue searching for the answers watching more videos, reading more blogs, asking google yet another question. Instead of trusting that we already have the answers.

My four year old asks me about 500 questions a day.

He is super curious about the world around him.

Normally I answer his questions and give little thought to it, but the other day he asked me a question and I told him I didn’t know the answer.

He stopped walking, hands on hips and said, “You know everything mom, what’s the answer?”

It made me think of how often we as business owners continue searching for the answers watching more videos, reading more blogs, asking google yet another question.

Instead of trusting that we already have the answers.

We're always searching, trying to make sure we have the perfect answer, letting that self-doubt creep in.

When in all reality the answer is already inside of us.

Most of the time we're just too afraid to put ourselves out there and communicate our message.

Here are my top 3 tips to show up in a big way, and kick the self-doubt to the curb.

1. Stop comparing yourself to others .

Stop watching what others are doing in your industry and start doing it your way. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten caught up watching what other experts are doing and felt like I couldn’t do it, because they already did. It’s so not true. No one can do what you do the way that you can. Your story is exactly what someone needs to hear and you're going to resonate with your people.

2. Create a mindset routine that feels good to you .

Grab a journal and free write every morning. Listen to uplifting podcasts on your way to drop kids off to school. Curl up in a hot bath or read a personal development book that feeds your soul. Do what feels good to you, ask yourself if it brings you joy? If it does keep doing it if it doesn’t then try something else until you find what works for you. I can’t tell you how often we do things just because we see others doing it. Not everything is going to work for you. Pave your own path the way only you can.

3. Surround yourself with people who get you and nurture those relationships.

Being an entrepreneur isn’t for the faint at heart. Not everyone around you understands what you're doing or knows how to support you. Connect with other entrepreneurs and hang out with them, meet for coffee virtually or in person. Join a local networking group, show up in online groups. Community is key, show up and be you. Build true relationships that feel good and help keep you on track when self-doubt try’s to creep back in.
